5.5 in Claude Code: Effort, Settings, CLAUDE.md RulesClaude Code 整合 Opus 5.5：效能、設定與 CLAUDE.md 最佳實踐

**Opus 5.5 costs $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, exactly double Sonnet 5.5, and Claude Code runs it at medium effort unless you say otherwise. [1] That pairing is the whole game: you pay a 2x premium per token, so the saving comes from using it on the right work and keeping its context lean. Anthropic's Claude Code docs say medium on Opus 5.5 matches or beats Opus 5 at high on their coding and knowledge-work evals. [2] Below: when Opus earns its price against Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5, what the five effort levels do, a settings.json you can paste, a routing pattern, six CLAUDE.md rules, and a quick-answers section. What you are actually buying Opus 5.5 launched September 22, 2026 under the model ID claude-opus-5-5 . It has a 1M-token context window, 128K max output, and adaptive thinking that is always on. [1] Always on matters in Claude Code: a saved alwaysThinkingEnabled: false or MAX_THINKING_TOKENS=0 has no effect on Opus 5.5, so effort is your only dial for how much it thinks. [2] It needs Claude Code v2.1.280 or later. Model Input / output per MTok Default effort Latency Built for | Opus 5.5 | $4 / $20 | medium | Moderate | Long-running agentic coding | | Sonnet 5.5 | $2 / $10 | high | Fast | Speed plus intelligence | | Haiku 5.5 | from $0.10 / $0.50 | medium | Fastest | Classification, extraction, routing | Source: Anthropic's models overview. [3] Opus 5.5 cache reads cost $0.20 per MTok, which is 5% of the base input price. That detail drives half the CLAUDE.md advice below. When Opus 5.5 beats Sonnet 5.5, with price math Take a mid-sized agentic task: 150K input tokens and 20K output tokens, no caching. Opus 5.5: 0.15 x $4 + 0.02 x $20 = $1.00 Sonnet 5.5: 0.15 x $2 + 0.02 x $10 = $0.50 Haiku 5.5: 0.15 x $0.10 + 0.02 x $0.50 = $0.025 at the starting rate Haiku's price is the floor. Anthropic says a Haiku 5.5 request costs more per token once the prompt passes 100K tokens, so treat $0.025 as a lower bound for this example. [2] Opus and Sonnet have no long-context premium on the Anthropic API. The break-even is simple. Opus wins when it finishes in half the attempts. If Sonnet needs two tries to land a cross-module refactor and Opus lands it once, the bills tie and you saved a review cycle. If Sonnet lands it first time, Opus cost you double for nothing. My rule of thumb, from the pricing and the model descriptions rather than a benchmark of my own: Opus: planning, architecture calls, debugging that crosses three or more files, reviewing a diff you do not want to be wrong. Sonnet: implementing a plan that already exists, test writing, routine refactors, most daily edits. Haiku: file search, log triage, summarising a directory, anything where a wrong answer is cheap to spot. On Hacker News the launch thread has 1,806 points and 1,134 comments, and most of it argues about Anthropic's
